For the past 14 years, our company, Plastec Industries has been solely a Lawn & Garden
company. Four years ago we launched a new Housewares division. The only product
we had to show at the National Gourmet Products Show was our colorful gripping
octagon coasters. An hour after the show opened Ed Beren walked by our booth
and said "these coasters are the most interesting thing at this show, put this
theory to work on a cutting board". A year passed, and at the next show we were
there to show our patented "GRIPPER" cutting board line, thanks to Ed Beren's
suggestion.
That year we began working with Beren Group on a sales & product development consultation basis. As a new company in the Housewares Industry, the efforts of the Beren Group have been invaluable. The Beren Group's expertise, contacts, & product development guidance has served to create the maximum growth and exposure for our company and our brand.
With the Beren Group's relationships, we were able to add numerous key retailers such as: Crate and Barrel, Williams Sonoma and Federated to our customer base and we were able to significantly increase our sales at existing retailers, including Linen-n-Things. In addition, Architec's National Rep coverage has been created & maintained by the Beren Group in order to secure & build a nationwide Gourmet Store account base.
